Pixar Animation Studios is one of the most popular in the world; some of the best movies ever to hit the big screen have been produced here. They are a GCI animation company and the company was originally developed in their base in Emeryville, California, United States.

Pixar is not actually as old as a lot of people think. It was originally created back in 1979, and was a sub sector of Lucasfilm. Back in 1986 it was purchased by Steve Jobs and was purchased by The Walt Disney Company in 2006, which meant a huge investment and development would follow.

Don't be fooled by their comic image, Pixar are deadly serious. They have produced 10 films which could literally be described as smash hits and will be remembered by many for years to come. The first feature film was released back in 1995, which was Toy Story, and since then they have released three more Toy Story films due to its success! Others films that they have produced include A Bug's Life, Monsters, Inc., Finding Nemo, WALL-E and even the Incredibles!

Of course, these are just the major awards, which offer great significance. Along their journey as an animation company Pixar have picked up a range of other awards, as well as rave reviews from industry critics.

DreamWorks

Like Pixar, DreamWorks is one of the well known and reputable 3D animation studios that are currently producing films. The company, DreamWorks, LLC is also known as DreamWorks Pictures, DreamWorks SKG or DreamWorks Studios.

It seems their portfolio of work spans slightly further than that of Pixar. They boast a range of films, video games, and television programming, where as Pixar now just focus on producing features films.

DreamWorks began as an idea in the early 90's but became a reality for the creators in 1994. The three creators Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg, and David Geffen were not to know they had just stumbled upon a multi billion pound 3D animation company, and over 15 years later, they are still going strong.

Whilst this was a company developed by a small range of individuals, they all chose to go their separate ways. In 2005 the company got an offer they could not refuse from Viacom, and the deal was eventually completed by 2006. Just two years later and DreamWorks were on a mission, they made a huge announcement that their partnership, that had been cherished for so long, would be coming to an end. They signed a $1.5 billion deal which would mean they'd be working in conjunction with India's Reliance ADA Group producing films.

The DreamWorks animation sector of the business became so big that in 2004 it was eventually developed into a public company, working from two studios!

As far as their success goes, it shows similar dominance to that of Pixar. DreamWorks has managed to develop 10 outstanding films. Each of these has been box office hits, with revenue figures well in excess of $100 million. Of course, there is always a film that stands out from the crowd, or that makes a company what it is today and for DreamWorks, that was Shrek 2. This was their most popular film to date.

The film - The Proposal is an American romantic comedy starring Sandra Bullock's and Ryan Reynolds as the main protagonists. The film was released simultaneously in Australia and North America in the year 2009, by Touchstone Pictures. Sandra Bullocks the female lead was last seen in the prequel and sequel of the movie Speed co starring Keanu Reeves, with a convincing performance.

Film trailer makes a go with a scene where Sandra as Margaret and Andrew (Ryan) working together in publishing company called Colden Books. Margaret is a dominating editor in chief and Ryan, an opportunist working as an assistant to her. Upon governments investigating about the authenticity of the work permit, Margaret reluctantly forces Andrew to marry her so that she is not deported to Canada. Ryan being and opportunist, greedily accepts that luring proposal thinking that he would be promoted from assistant to the chief editor of the company, and also starts day dreaming that his articles and various manuscripts would be published. When the investigating officer probes, they are forced against their will to spend the weekend with Sandra parents in Alaska faking as couples engaged to be married.

As the passage of time, they are shown in the film trailer sharing and helping each other in every domestic chores, while shopping they tend to show they have a common ideas and interest, certain comedy portion of the film trailer shows amazing timing and chemistry between the two, in the process the duo starts genuinely to fall in love as they spend more and more time together, their closeness develops in an unconditional love, often comically potrayed.Beacause of this during the wedding ceremony, Margaret has a change of heart and refuses to marry Ryan much to the surprise of the investigating officer and her parents and confesses the business arrangement in front of everyone--including the immigration officer handling their case. She is warned and given 24 hours to pack her personal belongings and heads toward Canada; however Andrew a good hearted, lovable man it is later revealed his family is rich, seemingly owning the entire town, but Andrew himself is estranged from his father, who wishes he would take over the family business.

The ending part of the film trailer shows Andrew shows up the next morning at the office and confesses his love for her in front of the entire office staff, proposing marriage all over again. The nicest part of the trailer is the spontaneous chemical energy between Sandra and Ryan.

The Evolution of Cinema Entertainment

The modern cinema has come a long way in the last hundred years since film was first invented. Where once films were shown in dark, single screen movie theatres with flickering images projected onto screens, movies have evolved to the grandiose experience they are today. Most cinemas now are huge sprawling multiplexes that show dozens of movies at the same time, entertaining thousands of people at once. Then once the films have gone from the cinemas they are released on home entertainment formats such as Blu-Ray and DVD.

IMAX is one such advancement in films that has transformed the cinema-going experience to create much larger screens with higher resolution movies being projected onto them. Film shot for IMAX is shot on larger 65 mm film which is then run through the camera horizontally. This means that the IMAX film image is 69.6 mm wide and 48.5 mm tall, instead of the normal 48.5 mm wide and 22.1 mm tall.

The film is then run through the camera three times as quickly in order for it to be exposed at 24 frames per second.

Several films these days contain scenes that have been shot specifically for display on IMAX, such as the new Transformers sequel, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen, which features three scenes shot for IMAX.
